It depends on the moment.
We might look for teachers with more experience or teachers who have just finished the CELTA and want to start gaining experience.
At the moment, we are looking for someone with a lot of experience in the following:
- Teaching kids from 4 years old.
- Preparing Cambridge and Trinity. In Kairos we prepare for these two exams. Sometimes we prepare for APTIS, but this is less frequent.
- Teaching C2 level. This is very important. There are not many teachers who could teach this level because it requires such an in-depth knowledge of the English language, in addition to the experience needed to confront this challenge. However, having the ability to teach this level is absolutely vital for this position.
Of course, there are a lot of values that are important for us: interest in the students, motivation, initiative, team work, but, apart from the teaching skills that mentioned in the last paragraph, the most important characteristic to work in Kairos is being organised. Working as an English teacher in Kairos is a fantastic opportunitty as long as you are an organised person.
If you are a person with an ordered mind, who organises your schedule well, who follows the communicative process that we have and who anticipates in advance the work that needs doing, then working in Kairos is going to be easy. You will normally work between 20-25 teaching hours per week and the rest until 34 preparing everything. These teaching hours are mostly between 16:00 and 21:00, with occasional work in the mornings between 11:00 and 13:00 two days per week. For an organised and experienced teacher who follows the communicative process that we have and who anticipates in advance the work that needs doing, it is possible to complete all the necessary planning and marking in very few hours. We are happy to say that, as a benefit of this, Friday is almost always a day off in Kairos.
For this role we are looking for someone whose mother tongue is English. This is essential as it is something that our students demand.
It is important to have the permission to work in Spain.
If you have these characteristics, please, contact us because we are waiting for you.
Secondly, we could need a CELTA student who has just finished their CELTA. Again, the qualities we want from this person are going to be similar to those of the main teacher (organised, communicative, comfortable teaching kids from 4 years, native speaker, and able to work in Spain) with the difference that this teacher might not teach C2 level, although it will always be valuable if you can do it.
At this moment we are not looking for this teacher, but if you have this profile, please, send your CV to email@example.com as we will need it in the future.
We receive a lot of CVs from Spanish teachers. In our school we also contract Spanish people. In this case, the priority is that they could teach English only up as far as intermediate levels (B1 and sometimes, but not often, B2), but more importantly this teacher would be able to teach French. If your CV fits this profile, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email, with the email subject «French and English teacher».
We would like to reiterate that for these three roles the most valuable asset is that you are a person with energy, who likes to work with people, is ready to be patient with difficult students, and who likes to work in a team, but at the same time is independent enough to make their own decisions. People who like to follow our communication patterns and our systems, which have proven to be good at working together.
Teaching is a challenging but also immensely rewarding profession. Kairos Town is the perfect opportunity for an energetic person
